An Artist’s View of Surgery in Nepal

George Butler, a “reportage artist” accompanied Dr Donald Sammut on his last trip to Lalgadh and sketched and painted many of the scenes that he encountered whilst there. He captured the intensity of some moments in the surgical scenes he witnessed, particularly the emotions of patients or their guardians. He has published an article in the Guardian with pictures and an account of some of his visit in The Guardian. To see one of the pictures and visit the article click “MORE” (at right)
