Nepal Leprosy Trust is a UK-based Christian agency that provides
services to leprosy sufferers in the Kingdom of Nepal. We have built and now operate the only major leprosy services centre
in southeast Nepal, the area of the country with the highest prevalence
of leprosy. We have taken responsibility for supervising all leprosy control
activities in the four districts around Lalgadh in Central Region, on
behalf of His Majesty's Government of Nepal. We have initiated a number of pioneering projects in the fields of self-care training, community-based empowerment and rehabilitation, and community awareness. We supports the continual training of our staff and provide sponsorships for specialist training, such as for doctors. We continue to carry out rehabilitation, income generation and social welfare projects in the Kathmandu area. Click here to visit our fair trade website. Nepal Leprosy Trust was founded by Ms. Eileen Lodge in 1972, who stood down from directorship in 1996. She continues to be active in Nepal. |
