Sponsored Walk – Perfect weather, great company, lovely scenery

The NLT sponsored walk along the Thames happened on schedule on Saturday 19th, and was blessed with sunshine for the whole walk. It was slow going as we dawdled with small children, enjoying the views, but we made it back to the NLT office late in the afternoon to a reward of scones, cream and strawberry jam. We need to do a few calculations to work out the approximate steps we took, and the funds we have raised but it was an encouraging improvement on last year and makes next year something...

Sponsored Walk Update – “A Million Steps against Stigma”

The Plan: Meet at the NLT Office (10A The Vineyard, Richmond, Surrey, TW10 6AQ) between 09:45am and 10:20am. (See map below) It is probably best to park in the NCP car park nearby in Paradise road (see map below). Unfortunately there is a rugby match at Twickenham in the evening and the A316 will be shut from about 5pm so it would be best to avoid the northern side of Richmond. Bring some wet weather gear in case it rains. You can also bring some lunch or buy some at Kingston. ...

Summer Soiree

Thursday 10th started off very overcast and threatening, so how would the evening pan out?  Well, there was no need to worry as the evening was  warm and sunny.  The guests enjoyed being alongside the river whether it was on the towpath or looking out from the balcony. The star turn of the evening was ‘The Barber Shop Choir’ who mesmorised their female audience with their renditions of songs from various musicals.  Many encores were requested and certainly their presence next year is definite...

Summer Suppers

The long balmy evenings have been the perfect setting for some summer suppers to help raise money for NLT. The order of the day is Fun, Food and friendship.  The last evening definitely rang loud and long with laughter at the many stories told by the ladies - helped along by a nice cold glass of wine!  The food was par excellence and friendships were made and deepened.  A few tears were shed at recent stories of young and old affected by leprosy as related by the hostess,  but all agreed that...

Grand Union Challenge – Help us make it count.

On the 28th and 29th June, our new Trustee Martin Davies will be taking part in a 100km run along the Grand Union Canal, from Paddington Recreation Ground near Maida Vale, to Bletchley Park. Martin does quite a bit of running and has run the whole length (147 miles) of the Grand Union Canal over 5 days, but 60 miles in...
