More and more of us find that we are doing a significant amount of our shopping on line. Some of you may buy your weekly shopping from Sainsbury or Asda online. We can now harness this activity to raise funds for Nepal Leprosy Trust through a website called Give As You Live at no cost to yourselves. Thousands of online stores have signed up to this site and will donate a percentage of your online shopping transactions to the charity of your choice – which we hope will be NLT! This has already raised good amounts of money for other charities where they have successfully encouraged their supporters to use these sites as a main channel for their online shopping. Please do consider this on our behalf.
The NLT UK Team are now using this on all their own computers so that wherever we make online purchases we can do so through Give As You Live and generate income for NLT. Please join us and support NLT in this new and practical way.
Next step – on the “Give As You Live” invitation below, click on the “sign-up” button and follow the steps to support Nepal Leprosy Trust by creating an account with a password, and setting NLT as your target charity. You can then shop via the Give As You Live “Stores” page, where all the shops are listed. Alternatively you can download the GAYL application onto the computer you use for online shopping and, when you log into an online store that supports GAYL, an opportunity to sign into your GAYL account will pop up and tell you what percentage of your purchase from that site would go to NLT. Sign in and shop away! Either way, a percentage of your purchase will automatically come to NLT. There will also be a small “shopping trolly” button on your browser that you can click to see if a shopping site is registered with GAYL.
